So yeah, I'm not a fan of giving a complete summary of the issue, but suffice to say; it was amazing and everyone should pick this up!

Sinestro on Korugar was amazing. I think he really underestimates the resolve and wisdom of Soranik though. If she turns down her planet's requests to lead them, she'll have truely overcome her fear of corruption.

Also: Sodam Yat?!

Sodam Yat indeed.
Mogo might be in big trouble.
Enkafos? Is he a mummy?

This book is always near the top of the stack. I love Gleason's art, though I wish he could cover the whole book instead of having fill-ins with him on each issue. He has such a great style, I'd like to see more of it.

Gibbons is doing a great job too, though I'd like to see Keith Champagne come back and do another round. The Korugar scene was awesome and I'm glad Soranik isn't dead.

Can't wait for next issue.

Actually I think that's the living city that Guy pissed off earlier in the series. Can't recall its name though.

Ranx the living city, but from that last page it looks a bit bigger than a city.

Wow. Between this and using the stuff Alan Moore came up with, Geoff & Dave are really going through some back issues. And I'm loving it. :D

Yeah, I have massive respect for ANY creator that does their homework. On one hand we have these guys knocking this story OUT OF THE PARK...

And on the other we have an artist in Countdown that can't apparently be bothered to spend 50 seconds reading a wikipedia on the Question to draw Renee Montoya properly.

But in Moore's story, Sodam was freakin' huge. Do Daxamites get, like, Strong Guy bigger?

Anyone else think that the large space station looking thing might be Brother Eye? When I saw that last panel that was the first thing to pop into my head (that and "God they're screwed). Especially with that half-built sort of look it has.

Isn't the space station Ranx, the sentient city? If Mogo dies then I'll headdesk until I bleed.

Well Mogo's supposed to be the last one to fall, so that won't happen for a while.

And It's the Sentient City.

Wow. There's a lot of history here I didn't understand, but even still it was a fairly accessable issue.

Firstly, I loved it. Everything in the issue was deadly and on the money as far as lining up with Johns' stuff. Secondly, Sinestro is proving still that he's a badass motherf*cker, and that he's going to f*ck with your head no matter who you are.

Will someone help me out? I didn't recognize Green Man, Stel, the "living city" at the end (but oh my god, what a jaw dropping image), or Sodom Yat (but I clicked the link referring to him..."ultimate Green Lantern" indeed). Can someone catch me up on what happened in the previous issue? I went back to the LCS to pick it up but they were out.

Glad I picked this up! The whole Corps War is getting better and better.

See? This is what I really like about the DC Universe when it has the right saga. There's a sense of history that seamlessly connects to the present, but doesn't drown the reader in too much backstory. Each issue raises the stakes; even though the "good guys" win (eventually) you really worry how they're gonna pull it off and what will be left of them when they do. And the fact that Sinestro went from lame to game is nothing short of miraculous.

Daxamites are pretty much the equivalent to a Kryptonian, except they are vulnerable to lead as opposed to kryptonite. Mon-El was a Daxamite.

Oh yeah, I know that, I'm just saying, in Tales of the GLC, he was big (and seemed to be rather disproportionate). I suppose it's just artistic differences. :)

Something else I just remembered: wasn't Sodam supposed to be "the greatest Green Lantern"? In this, he's just a rookie...

I knew that name sounded familiar, but I couldn't figure out why. I'm loving all of the references to Alan Moore's story.

lol, too true. Last week, the artist drew the wrong Fortress of Solitude and incorrectly gave Lois long hair when her hair's been short for the last year.

That's my point: he needs to survive long enough to become the greatest, which means he can't die yet, which sort of defeats the purpose of playing up the whole "Darkest Night" prophecy. Although, we know it isn't REALLY the end of the GLC, so I guess it's a moot point.

When Soranik tried to lethally harm Sinestro, the ring said she couldn't. If the ring prevents the wearer from killing, how come John Stewart could kill the SC sniper?

Anyway, excellent issue. Its far better than GL in both character moments and action. This book top notch and I don't see that changing any time soon. I can't wait for the next chapter.

Actually, I heard somewhere that Diamond was actually sold out of the issue. I'd expect it to probably get a second printing. (Which would be nuts for a GL spinoff book)

Then what did he do?

Blasted him, knocked him out, sent him flying, etc.

But it's been officially stated that he didn't kill the sniper.

Lanterns haven't gotten clearance to use lethal force yet.

It would be nuts because it would get one before Green Lantern's first SC issue.

Great stuff in this issue, Sinestro is so badass but arrogant at the same time that it's ridiculous and who says that Sodam isn't gonna die maybe he sacrifices himself to save the day and gets honored as the greatest.

I don't quite get it. The cover says Sinestro Wars Part 3 and the first page says Sinestro Corps Chapter 2. So, which story am I following here? Were the last two issues of GLC Sinestro Wars Part 1 and 2? Does the Sinestro Corps Special count as part 1 and the last issue of GL count as part 2? Was Sinestro Corps Special Chapter 1 and the last issues of GL and GLC chapter 2?

sexyjesus

The one-shot was the prologue, so its part 1. Green Lantern #21 (i think?) is chapter 1, but part 2. GLC #14 is chapter 2, but part 3.

Geoff's said it in quite a few interviews/posts. I just can't for the life of me find one right now while I'm trying to do other things. Suffice to say: "trust me".

I think the first one; it was the third PART, but the Special was more of a prologue than a chapter, so it's the second CHAPTER...or something. I was confused too.

Wouldn't the back-ups have been the prologue?

Cadia
07-26-2007, 10:26 AM
You mean GL's first Sinestro corps second printing?

or the Special's third printing? Which I'm actually thinking about getting, the cover is going to be a black and white (with yellow highlights) version of the first printing cover.

As for the issue, its Ranx, the preview cover for 15 shows Mogo v Ranx and Akrillo v Kilowog. Ranx probably looks so much bigger because Akrillo has been making the Qwardian slaves work on it/him for so long.

It was odd having a GLC issue with no Guy, but as long as he gets some face time in the next GL issue I'll be ok. (which is looks like he will, with Hal, Guy, Johna nd the Lost Lanterns taking on Kyle, Sinestro and the rest of the Sinestro Corps on Qward.)

Also, I'm thinkin' that Sodam Yat got the introduction to be the Corps answer to Prime. Sodam Yat + Yellow Sun = SB Prime + Sinestro Corps ring (if he's even wearing one, is he?)

Didnt Sodam Yat also show up in a Elseworld story where he was the last Green Lantern and defeated Superman after he went nuts or something?

EDIT: checked Wikipedia and found more info on Yat.. including the story i thought was elseworld.. but it was unpublished story by alan moore
