Spider-Sense Part 1

Well another good issue by Waid and Ringo. This issue is more of a humour issue but still it had some great moments. I liked how Waid handled Spider-Man and Johnny's friendship. It has always been one of my favorites in the Marvel Universe and these two play really well off one another. Also I was pleased to see Waid use Alicia Masters again. She is a great supporting character that was carelessly tossed to the side. Ringo is his usual excellent self. It was nice to see him draw Spider-Man again after so long. All in all a good issue with some nice character moments.

This was easily my favorite issue of Waid's run.A much appreciated break in the action. This was a classic. Was that the Wizard?

I thought it might be him too. Good to see classic villains are making a comeback in the MU. Hydro Man has always been a favourite 3rd string baddie of mine. I love the fact that he'd tried to go straight and get a job at a water park. That's perfect.

My personal favorite moment was Spidey's response to when Johnny asked him how he managed to live life as a loser. Waid scripted it perfectly Ringo conveyed it so well. It was just one silent panel, but I was laughing really hard at that moment of silence.

Great issue!

Two very small flaws with this issue:

1. The Spidey/Johnny relationship was played perhaps a bit too much for laughs. But not by very much.

2. There was no need to remind us of any part of Claremont's forgettable run on FF, or Reed's unlikely girlfriend.

Otherwise, another great issue, with some wonderful stuff. Even if Ben's lament sounded like Buffy's lamnet after her own resurrection. At least Ben didn't sing about it.

I'm pretty sure it was because the next arc is supposed to be the new Frightful Four.

I loved this issue. Waid wrote a great Spidey and Ringo's art is perfect for a humor issue. The backup story at the end was funny too.

I thought this issue was awesome. A great change of pace since the Fantastic Four have been through hell for the past year. Lots of great moments with Spidey!

Though I did think the last pages were a bit odd (Johnny naked in a kiddie pool?).

This issue fell flat for me.

I prefer a little more subtlety in humor.

It was like being bombarded by a flurry of one-liners from a bad stand-up comic.

Quite a surprise, considering I've been singing the praises of Mr. Waid lately.

Spidey looked disproportionate in several panels, which was weird. Looked rushed.

I hope this picks up again and returns to full glory.

Wow. I just read my own post (c'mon you all know you do it!)..and I sound kinda harsh, especially the bad stand up comic thing.

so let me elaborate by saying this issue was probably a fluke and may not have sat with me well because I just got in from doing some yard-work.

I loved this issue. Was a nice change of pace from all the doom and gloom of late (pun intended).

So was that Paul Smith that drew the backup story?

I have to say that I loved this issue. It was a nice comedic break after the drama & DOOM of the last few arcs.

i think my two favorite bits were
1... the little poll in the recap page with johnny, spidey, and some weird haired bushy eye browed real estate magnate. YOU'RE F.... OK, ill stop...
2.. the gigantic trench coat that spidey has to wear.

does anyone know the lineup for the new Frightful Four?! will titania be a part of it?!
