Lizard's Tale Part III

This is a fun book and the price is right ($2.25 USD). I always look forward to it.

So far we've seen some pretty disturbing events with the likes of Venom and Doc Oc trying to pound our favorite wall crawler into the cement, but now it's Dr. Conners turn as he brings his maniacal alter-self to the table. As the Lizard, Dr. Conners is powerful, ruthless and quite able, all of which his regular self is not. This is the descent of a desperate man who lets his life slip away for fear of taking responsibility and accepting what he is (an often treaded Spidey-theme!)

There have been a few rotating artists on this book to date, but it is Jenkins' solid characterisation of Peter that draws me in. The art has been consistent and the colors are always picture-perfect. D'Armata and Delgado I believe have been sharing the coloring-duties and they are both exceptional. Nice, bold colors.

This title is really going to heat up soon. #15 & 16, will be drawn by Michael Ryan, a very promising artist, and it will guest star Cap!

Look out!

Grade: B This book is borderline great and worth every cent..!

Is it just me that can't see where the artist is mentioned in this review?

I particularly like how Spectacular gives us a deeper look into the lives of Spidey's villains, including Venom, Doc Ock, and Connors. I just wish Ramos was back on the book, I like his style.

Am I the only one who's copy of this was delyed in shipping until next week?

I like the idea behind this title but I'm on the verge of dropping it. It's good and all, but damn, nothing much seems to happen AT ALL issue to issue

guess so, sorry dude. And yeah, I like it and all, but I've been debating on whether or not to drop it. But I'll prolly end up keeping it.

I listed the artist as: 'Varies', and I've explained why in my review.

There are rotating artists on this publication.

thanks for your input, tho. :)

man, I guess no one is really as excited about this as I am..:( :)

sorry, but the Lizard never really interested me much. And this story made him seem even more pathetic in my eyes. I am interested to see what happens in the upcoming arc with Captain America.

I hate the Lizard, he is the most boring Spidey rogue next to Venom, but Jenkins manage to make an interesting tale about him. I glad that this was just 3 issues long, because if it went longer , it would have lost a lot of quality. I am going to miss Damion Scott as the back up artist on this title because made a good impression with me with his take on the character. His style reminds me a lot of Duncan Rouleau, with his use of excess lines and the energy in his storytelling.I am almost tempted to follow this guy to Robin, but it would take a lot to make that jump.I agree with you count, I would give it a B

gets a b from me. exaggerated art jsut doesnt cut it for me, but Scott isnt too bad. Ramos, on the other hand......

ick.

i do like how this title is the most old-school, in that it tells action-packed stories with all the classic Spidey villains. Jenkins has done a good job in that repect.

my overall opinion- if you dont want to pay 2.99 for MK spidey, or if you dont want spidey fighting magical villains in ASM, or you dont want the pubescent Peter Parker in USM, then pick this up. if you only buy one Spidey book, go with MK Spidey. but i m a Spidey completist, so dont listen to me :)
