The Lowdown: Former leader of the mid-90's group, WildC.A.T.S; Jack Marlowe (Spartan) is now the head of a multibillion dollar company called Halo, that specializes in anything and everything. Marlowe, intending to change the world through Halo Industries recruits fellow Wildcats team-mate Cole Cash aka. Grifter as a mercenary. With the addition of an accountant who just happens to be a remarkable shooter (Dolby), C.C. Rendezzo, unstoppable CIA Agent Orange, and NPS Agent Wax.. the new Wildcats are read to change the world in a not so 'covert' way.
Review: Wildcats v. 3.0 is one of the best books out there, and this issue just goes to show it. The set-up story to this story, for anyone who wants to pick up the series starting with this issue is that Zealot.. a former member of the original Wildcats, has gone on a killing spree in Europe; killing members of her old Coda organization of assassins one by one. A newly reformed Agent Orange has infiltrated the CIA, and is now a double-agent for Halo. The CIA and Zealot are both after the Coda, and they eventually meet.
I won't spoil it for anyone, because this IS a review, but the last few pages of this issue are awesome. Orange and Zealot vs. The grand Coda assasin... fun, no?
All in all, this issue clearly shows why I love Wildcats so much.. or.. lovED. There is just so much going on. Its multi-dimensional. Its not the same old boring good guys vs bad guys stuff.. there are so many parallels in the story that I can't even wait to turn the page to see what comes next.
Even though the series is cancelled, I highly suggest everyone pick this up and the rest of the issues until the cancellation.. and then, go back and get the two trades and the five or six issues after the second trade.
Grade: A (Would be A+, but there have been better Wildcats issues..)
