This folder is for REVIEWS, and REVIEWS only. Anyone can post – as long as it’s a review.

Guidelines for starting a review thread:

1) The topic of the thread is the title and issue number of the book.
2) There are no duplicate threads. Dups will be deleted.
3) At the very least, identify the writer and artist. If you want to name the full creative team, go for it.
4) The review has to be that – a REVIEW. Not a rant, not a whine, and not a veiled rantwhine whose central message is “I can write this better!” We can all see through that, and you look pathetic when you do it.
5) Do not use this folder as an excuse to bash a creator.
6) A review exists to inform others of your opinion on the work in question, as well as a minor summary of what the story was about. So – if you like life to be spoiler free, BEWARE. These reviews may occasionally contain spoilers.
7) Keep the tone light – imagine if you were just talking to a friend about a comic, telling them what you did or didn’t like. Don’t talk down to your audience. Likewise, please make it substantial - "I liked it!" does not a review make.
8) Keep the language workplace/kid safe.
9) Try to write something substantial. No three word reviews…
10) You can add your own review in a thread, after the initial starting review, if you wish.
11) PUBLISHERS: DO NOT pull reviews from this folder and attribute them to “Newsarama.com” – these are individual opinions and expressions which are not officially associated with Newsarama.com.
12) No pictures. Sorry - they'd eat bandwidth.
13) Creators - don't register under a pseudonym, and wildly, favorably review your own work.
14) The full review must be posted here - no links to somewhere else.
15) Be polite, and don’t be a dick.

Let’s also try to unify a general review system for ratings.

A+ - in the top 10% of the all the comics you have ever read. Will survive through several purges of your collection, and probably be passed on to your kids.
A: Extremely good. Solid art and writing. Story makes sense, and you’d probably pick it up again after you’ve read it to leaf through.
B: A good, solid read. An example of good comics by creators who know what they’re doing, but not quite up to that “top 10%” level.
C: Average all around. Okay story, okay art. Just okay.
D: Readable.
F: Oh God, why did I buy this?

Finally – the forum is in a beta stage right now. Let’s see what works and what doesn’t. If, by tomorrow, we’ve got monkeys swinging from the lamps, dogs playing cards, and it’s raining orange juice, then the deal’s off.

The survival of this forum rests squarely upon its participants. Screw up, and it’ll quickly vanish. Behave, and contribute, and this will be a valuable resource for all.
