I read Kingdom Come again, and I'd actually like to see Dick Grayson as Red Robin

yeah, personally, i'm not really for the Red Robin ID either. if Dick doesn't someday become batman (which we know he won't), then he needs to stay nightwing. regressing to some form of Robin identity is the last thing he needs.

All of the hints from Countdown point to a character getting a chance to see what his life would have been like if he hadn't been dealt the hand he was given. I am thinking this will be Jason Todd and he will be the one to pick up the Red Robin costume. He never got the chance to make his statement as Robin so now he has another go at it.

Instead of Jason OR Dick as Red Robin, why not make him a future version of Tim Drake? His costume right now is primarily Red, Tim's always insisted that he'd be around fighting crime as an adult, but not as Batman. So why not have Tim be the one to make the Robin name mean MORE than just a sidekick, albeit with a costume redesign for whatever reason?

Well I think it is different enough from the first Doc's suit to stand alone, and while the new Doc's suit is a lot closer to that, Kingdome Come did come out 3 years before he made an appearance. :p

Howevah, I'd he cool to see him adopt some sort of balck and blue version of that costume as Nightwing. DIck would look sharp with a full mask over his head, as opposed to the domino mask. It's more practical, too. Keeps the chances of somebody recovering a loose hair thread and using it to figure out who he really is.

I'd like to see Jason Todd eventually repair relations with the Bat-Family and become Red Robin, or to have Bruce Wayne killed off, newcomer Terry MacGuiness become Batman, and Tim Drake choose to not take up the Batman name and instead change his suit to be more Batman-ish and make himself Red Robin.
