View Full Version : Wildstorm Relaunch = Acclaim's VH2?
Remember Acclaim's VH2? Various "hot" creative teams signed up to reinvent the titles then bailed after the first arcs. Then titles started to be canceled & in two years the line went under. While I do think WS will be around in some form it appears to be doing the same thing. Several of the creative teams are already changing after their original arcs. And sales are dismal on some titles. The only difference? VH2 shipped on time where Wildcats & the Authority are MIA.

I love Jim Lee, I really do, but he needs his as$ kicked for even thinking about relaunching this line before the 1st arc of EVERY book was done. What the hell were they thinking??? How can you only publish 1 freaking issue of the flagship title and then go into hiding and nothing comes out for 6 months??

I can't help but wonder what goes on in their meetings . . . Wildstorm and Rob Liefeld started the whole "being late on your books and displaying no effort to fix the problem" mindset that has taken over the whole industry.
How are they staying financially solvent? Seriously . . . you are a comic creator and you don't put books out . . . HOW are you making money? Meth?

You're assuming they have meetings. ;)
Not having the first arcs done was a bad move, but it doesn't seem like much of a relaunch at all other than maybe Gen13. The first arc of The Authority doesn't seem like it could be any other arc.
Less than half the titles in the line take place in the Wildstorm Universe anyway. Is there a reason why they put titles in Wildstorm rather than Vertigo? Just to prop up the line?
The Wildstorm titles might actually fare better if they could work out some kind of separate content rules, but put them under the more watchful (in terms of output) eye of DC editorial.
