according to rumors reported by ign, the superman returns sequal might be scrapped, but that instead warner bros still wants brandon routh to play superman but instead in the JLA movie they ordered. they also said batman will not be part of the JLA movie which is good idea.

Wow!

I *knew* there would be some fallout with the recent successes of Ghost Rider and 300, but I didn't think it would be like that.

I think Warner is rethinking their approach to Superhero movies in a MAJOR way.

Exactly. Its WAY to early to start hand-wringing over rumor like this.

wow, if that is true thats surprising

Batman seems to be one of the most, if not the most, popular dc character.

even with him in the movie, i think they would attract a larger crowd just because of the name

People involved with Superman Returns have said that they're still planning SR2 to shoot early next year. So there's just as much evidence to deny this rumor than there is to support it.

According to the people who do the behind the scenes stuff, over on bluetights.net, they're already back to work, in prep for next March's start date, which they say is completely unaffected by the WW II film that Singer is going to shoot this summer. I think the whole thing is a couple of professional misanthropes, getting an early start on their hate-out, and trying to spin something negative for their own benefit, whatever that might be.

I can see why, it makes sense. Batman should be separate, otherwise it conflicts too much with the movie character.

As a fanboy I'd love to see him in JLA as it should be. But comics can do that, movies can't.

Because the film is still on, according to the people who are working on the prep, and post on bluetights.net.
