During OYL, the DCU books were pretty much hush-hush about what went down during the missing year. Obviously to avoid spoilers. Gradually, they've referred to it more often but still, for a whole year, they haven't referred to it much. So I was wondering, when 52 is over with, will they refer to it more often? And if so, what will be the explanation? Sorry, this may seem kinda insignificant but I was wondering.

They couldn't mention what happened in the missing year because for a goodly portion of it, it wasn't written yet. And after that they simply didn't want to spoil it.
Once 52 is over, it'll be nice to see those characters (who are left) reappear in the DCU. They've already teased a Booster Gold book, as well as an Inifinity Inc book, and even more veiled hints of a Black Adam title. Plus we'll see the Metal Men again (yay).
One thing they HAVE been mentioning in the books like Green Lantern, Blue Beetle and now LoSH is they'e been referring to "THE 52", as if it was a tangible thing. THAT's got me interested to know what they're referring to.
Several theories have been posited, one being that since there are 52 heroes in the Countdown poster (I haven't bothered to count), THEY are "the 52". Others suggest that's the number of parallel earths there are in the new improved Multiverse (I doubt that - why limit themselves to a set number?)

52 is the number of characters Dan Didio and Co. have fvcked over since the start of IdC till the end of Countdown, (including IC, 52, WW3 and AA).

How can you be anti-WW3 and Amazons Attack, they aren't even out yet.

I'd buy Booster Gold, Black Adam and Metal Men books.

I am not anti anything...
...am just giving a possiblity for what 52 is, (from what the trackrecord has been).

I'm not sure if 52 will be mentioned much in other books once it's over. Once the mysteries are revealed, there isn't much of a need to keep referencing them. I think this is what we'll see:
Some mention of WWIII and the fate of Black Adam. There is going to be a Great 10 book, but they'll get over WWIII soon enough.
Probably a memorial service for Ralph Dibny in an issue of JLA.
I don't think that Renée Montoya is interesting enough as The Question that she will be appearing all over the DCU.
The Luthor fallout already happened in Up, Up and Away.
Batwoman didn't have a storyline in 52. I'm sure they'll do something with her after the series is over.
I'm not sure the space heroes' adventures are ending with 52, and I'm guessing they'll be featured in some big event in the near future. I think that Lady Styx character was greated for that purpose. But really I have no idea.
There's this whole multiverse thing which is also the climax of the series, so we'll be hearing about that.

That's not true! You know darn well Didio clusterflocked more than 52 characters. :D
