Actually, the fact that he and Terra had similar costumes was a MAJOR plot issue when Terra burst onto the scene. Terra had allegedly not seen her brother (or Markovia) since she was abducted by terrorists, before she got her powers... yet when she and her brother were reunited they were wearing similar costumes. A major hint in what turned out to be her web of lies and betrayal. Also, why the brown stripe on the groin? :confused:

I like the green-and-yellow costume better for the most part, but I can't stand that idiotic GF chest emblem. But at least there's no brown stripe on the groin.

Yellow/Green costumes are always awful...like that's gonna scare anyone.
Still, what bugs me most is the "translated from Romanian" bit. What got into Meltzer?!
Couldn't he look up "Lithuanian", "Latvian" or " Estonian?

Or simply write "Markovian"?

Well, this has been done to death anyway...

The costume that was originally designed for Geo Force, was seen 2nd. He and Terra were created separately, at the same time. When the creatives discovered this, they created a connection between the two - the became siblings, and Jim Aparo shelved his design, and put his new character in a costume similar to that of Terra, who had already debuted in the NEW Teen Titans. After her story had been revealed a traitor, and died, Geo Force changed his costume, to the one that Aparo had designed first. I'm not wild about either, but the earth tones make more sense than the yellow and bright green. the loss of the "GF" is also a plus!

It's Gar Logan, the Changeling/Beast Boy, who can turn into any animal, but will always be green. If Jim Aparo had designed the character, he would have had a brown stripe on the groin. This is why Baby Jesus cries. :mad:

I don't think a brown groin stripe goes with any design. It screams "GRUMPY MUNCHKIN" to me, although I may be in the minority on that one. :(

The "groin stripe" came from Aparo mimicing Pérez' design. If he'd designed Changeling, he'd always have yellow shorts! :D

Ah yes. Thanks to all for replying. I don't read Titans (obviously) but I am aware of Beast Boy... I guess I'm just unfamiliar enough with the team that my mind didn't immediately jump in that direction.

While this was the team I actually grew up reading (blame my comic store for not storing their quarter bins with the likes of Wolfman/Perez's Teen Titans, Justice League, Avengers, etc)... I will concede that none of their costumes are remotely decent and is an eye sore.

Truly, the creators must've been on some truly great stuff back then to come up with something that... creative.

having said all that, the Outsiders were a force to be reckoned with, crappy costumes and all.

I always liked Black Lightning's, and would love to see it done now, with modern printing abilities, and an artist who can really render leather.

Halo's is very odd, but makes sense when you find out who, and what her character is.

Katana's is a good design, the colours are a bit garish, though.

I don't mind the earth-tone Geo-Force costume either. In fact the design looks far better on him, than it ever did on Terra.

Metamorpho is Metamorpho.

I always hated Looker's costume!

The greatest offense on that cover, is the "Western" block seraph font, used for Batman!

What the hell ever happened to Mike W. Barr. He was everywhere in the 80's, then he went to Comico, IIRC, to launch the Maze Agency, which launched Adam Hughes. He also introduced the son of Batman in a graphic novel, then he fell off the face of the Earth.

Dude, I'm not the one who called any of those costumes cool.

And for the record- Batman's cowl and other accessories should be black, and I hate the yellow oval behind the symbol. So I can go ahead and count Bats and still say that none of them are wearing a cool costume.
