:D
I think I may be harping on this a bit...but instead of just naming Sf/F authors I'd like to see write comics... I think I've got a few rather good matches of writer to specific characters..
Sgt. Rock...John Ringo
Phantom Stranger .. Simon R. Green
Elongnated Man... Robert Asprin
Green Arrow ..R.A. Salvatore
Black Canary .... Elaine Cunningham
Ambush Bug... Terry Pratchett
Sargon.... Ed Greenwood
Zatanna... Mercedes Lackey
Green Lantern Corps... Peter F. Hamilton
Dr. Fate....Jim Butcher
Madame Xanadu...Anne Bishop
I, Vampire.... Laurell K. Hamilton
Wonder Woman....David Weber
Doom Patrol....Michael Moorcock
Legion of Super-Heroes.... David Drake
Challengers of the Unknown..... Elizabeth Moon
Metamorpho.... L.E. Modesitt, Jr.
Unknown Soldier... Eric Flint
Omega Men.... Weis/Hickman
House Of Mystery..... Terry Brooks
So...What do you think of my choices....and do you have any you would add?

Pratchett on Ambush Bug? It would be the comic book equivalent ingesting every hallucinagen known to man all at once.
Asprin would have to cowrite with someone so he can keep his tax dodge going. Heh.
There's this fantasy novelist named Gaimen. He should try his hand at comic books some time
oh, wait....

So that's why he has all those "helpers" on the newer books.... .. What brought this on? I.R.S. go after him...or something else?

Actually, Gaiman is the original, Gaimen is the much anticipated, but widely panned, sequel.

Bigtime. He only co-writes or works as "creative editor" nowadays because the profits from anything he writes solo get heavily garnished by the IRS.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I messed up the joke with a piddling spelling error. :p

On what books?
Resnik on Batman or GL or a Mystery in Space type thing, maybe L.E.G.I.O.N.
Cook on Wonder Woman or perhaps Dr. Fate, or Zatanna.

I know it's a Marvel book, but William Gibson on Cable & Deadpool seems like a good fit.

Isn't the guy doing Aquaman some bigshot fantasy writer? Is that book any better then when Busiek was writing it?

Tad Williams' first issue of Aquaman doesn't go on sale until 3/21.

Elizabeth Moon should right Wonder Woman, or at the very least Hawkgirl, Black Canary or one of DC other warrior girls.
John Ringo needs to write a WarMachine book or a shield combat armour book. For DC
possible GLC or Steel or something based around Starlabs or DEO teams.
David Weber should have a stab at the next Kree-Skrull or Rann -Thannagar style space
conflict.
I say let Robert Jordan right a big sprawling DCU Maxi-series... but a) they'd never come out. b) it'd be changed from 6 issues to 12 to 16 and then an ongoing. c) Every month their would be rumors of his ill health or death.

Oh okay, my goof. :p It'd be interesting to see then if the sales on that book increase.
