I see what you are talking about, and Didio did say that the placement of the characters was very purposeful.

Plus, with all the New Gods talk, the fact that 52 makes an Omega shouldn't be overlooked.

If the positions mean anything I'd figure it stems from where Superman and Wonder Woman are placed. As mentioned in Infinite Crisis, Superman is the source of everything apparently. So what happens to him affects the people above him... I guess at least.

Dang, as much as I've been enjoying this series, I'm getting sick of this 52 bit. I hope it at LEAST turns out to be as ridiculous and/or ironic and amusing as Douglas Adams iconic "42" in Hitchhiker but I may be hoping for too much.
