Just wondering if its worth it to pick up formerly known as the justice league. I am a little interested if it was good. The only thing i really ever read with Ted Cord was countdown and i like booster in 52. Thoughts?

Its wordy and plot light, but thats why we love them.

This mini was my introduction to Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Max Lord, Elongated Man and Sue Dibny.....so i was pretty f*cking shocked from Identity Crisis onwards....

Must have been some good sh*t though cos now i have both those minis, Justice League International 1-24 and Justice League Europe 1-12 (i love Ebay :D )

It's not good, it's the BEST thing that DC has published in over 10 years my friend. It is the blueprint on how all superhero comics should be written.

Its ok if you want a chuckle, but not a full blown laugh. The story was amusing, but I didn't find it as amazing as people thought it was. It didn't show me why Ted Kord or Michael Carter were such amazing characters. A lot of the jokes seemed incredibly forced and trying to be too clever than they are.

It was an ok story with some fantastic art.

So not a big fan of "I HAVE A HEART CONDITION!!!"....

Not really. I did enjoy slutty Mary Marvel though, but that's probably because I have slutty feelings for her.

I think we all have that urge to corrupt the innocent.

Wow I am suprised people who picked this up as their first encounter with "the joke League" liked it. I mean I liked it but I was an established JLI fan.

I call it an "acquired taste" like a foreign delicacy or something. It's nothing like the mainstream DCU at all.

Personally I recommend you pick up at least one back issue of the Giffen/DeMatties JUSTICE LEAGUE (Unsuffixed, International, America, Europe, Antarctica, etc...) series first and see what you think. It's totally in the same vein and very self-referential. If you like JLI you will like this. And the sequel is just as good. As is HERO SQUARED.

I just finished reading it last night. It was pretty good. Took me a little while to get into it, but the ending was pretty good.

I just have one question, when Elongated Man is talking to Plastic Man, when he says Identity Crisis, is that a coincidence or a hint at the miniseries to come?
