No, he was shown returning with the "surviving" members of Donna's team at the end of Infinite Crisis. It was explained in JSA:Classified last month and this month that he went back to Thanagar (and maybe Rann) and stayed there during most of 52 and until just recently....

Hawkman's departure and return have been pretty low profile.

I understand DC's marketing department can push only a limited number of projects, but other than the title change for HAWKMAN, this has been completely off my radar.

Guess I'll have to scan through those issues that are piling up.
